Carlos Alberto Richa, known as Beto Richa, was born in July 29th, 1965, in Londrina, north of Paraná. Construction engineer, graduated by Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC-PR).
Married with the lawyer Fernanda Bernardi Vieira Richa, is the father of three sons: Marcello, André and Rodrigo, and grandfather of three grandsons: Lucca, Enrico and Edoardo.
Inspired by the recognized political path of his father, José Richa, who also held office in two terms as a Congressman, Major of Londrina and Senator, Beto Richa joined in public life at 29 years of age.
Was elected as Major of Curitiba at the age of 39, with 494.440 votes, in 2004.
Reelected Major of Curitiba, in the first round of the elections in 2008, with778.514 votes (77,27%), in the city’s biggest elections ever.
Elected Governor of Paraná, with 3.039.774 votes, in 2010. Reelected Governor of Paraná, with 3.301.322 votes –( 55,67%) in 2014.
Among other awards, his government in Paraná received, in recent years, the improvement of the rating by the Fitch agency and the National Treasury: the Paraná Competitivo was nominated as one of the Eight Best Programs of Tax Incentive In the World (Financial Times); Second Most Competitive State in the Country (The Economist).
