Laurence is Founder and CEO of Pavegen - an innovative clean-tech company, based in London. The technology that instantly converts kinetic energy from footsteps into renewable off-grid electricity. Laurence founded Pavegen shortly after graduating in Industrial Design and Technology from Loughborough University in 2009. Since then Pavegen has scaled across the world, installing over 100 projects in over 30 countries including France, Germany, South Africa, Brazil, Australia, South Korea and parts of North America. Laurence partnered with the likes of serial solar entrepreneur Akon, football legend Pelé and global innovator Will.I.Am to promote his clean-tech vision
Laurence has also worked with the world’s largest companies including Shell, Adidas, Coca-Cola, Samsung, Sunglass Hut, Lexus, Schneider Electric, KIA Motors, Formula E and Europe’s largest shopping centre Westfield. Laurence creates significant media interest with his charismatic nature, entrepreneurial savvy and technical knowledge. Extensive press coverage includes Forbes, Wired, BBC, CNN, The Times, The Huffington Post and The Wall Street Journal to mention a few.
Having completed 5 TED talks globally and attended trade missions in China and Italy with the British Prime Minister David Cameron, Laurence is well-renowned as a thought leader within technology and entrepreneurship. He was invited to talk at SXSW 2016 on behalf of British and the US governments. Laurence has also participated in UN’s +20 Climate Conference, Innovate UK, DMZ 2.0 with Steven Wozniak in South Korea and the All-Energy Australia Conference as part of Australia’s Sustainability Week.
