SECOM is a French company founded in 1989. Specialized over 15 years in digital audio solutions and new technologies, this company has created the CopSonic technology. In September 2013, this technology was made public and CopSonic became the carried spin-off dedicated to the development and marketing of the different ultrasonic authentication solutions.

CopSonic is a technology that allows sending secured encrypted data between two devices through sound waves. It is almost like standard NFC but with one remarkable difference: now mobiles and smart devices will be able to exchange information without compatibility issues because the transfer is made through microphones and speakers.Using CopSonic in smartphone applications provides new opportunities for contactless communication using TCP / IP network. The authentication occurs on CopSonic's Cloud and the control of the system can be shared between this and the smartphone application. The exchange distance goes from a single centimeter up to hundreds of meters.
